25 Weeks

I am feeling so horrible that I haven't been keeping up with this poor blog over the last six weeks! Things just got really busy and I had a hard time sitting down and writing. I know I'll regret it someday, since it's so much fun to look back and read my experience with the pregnancy. But I'm back now, I promise! So wow... my little baby is not so little anymore! Apparently it's the size of an EGGPLANT now and could possibly weigh a little over two pounds! Keep growing, baby!!!

So pretty much everyone knows by now, but we will be welcoming another beautiful little BOY into our family in November! There was ab
solutely no denying that this is another little guy.... he was proud to show of the goods! I knew immediately that he was a boy before the ultrasound tech was able to tell us.... I was the one that shouted out, "That's totally a boy!" It was really fun and exciting! My favorite memory of that day was when Eric and I were driving home from dinner and no one knew but us.... and we started talking about "our boys".... I actually started crying when I was able to say that! I love saying "our boys".... there's something so special about that. In fact, I'm tearing up right now while typing it and re-reading it. Good 'ole pregnancy hormones! The ultrasound itself was fantastic.... our little guy was measuring right at 20 weeks and he weighed in at a whopping 11 ounces! Hard to believe how much he's grown since then. We got to see a closeup of his cute lips and nose, we saw him sucking his thumb, drinking the amniotic fluid, and playing with his little hands! It was the coolest ultrasound I have ever had. He looked very healthy and he was super active the whole time. Here's a profile picture of his sweet face:

We'll be going in for another ultrasound in the next month or so because my placenta was low lying, so they want to make sure it has moved up. The last thing I want to hear is that I'll be dealing with placenta previa (which is when the placenta covers the cervix, thus requiring a c-section since baby can't get out!). But my doctor seemed 100% confident that the placenta will have moved up on it's own, which happens 95% of the time with a low lying placenta. So I haven't allowed myself to even remotely worry about it and I'm looking at it as another opportunity to see our little man again!

Otherwise, this pregnancy has really started kicking my booty.... my tummy is getting gigantic and I've started feeling EXTREME exhaustion. I'm praying the fatigue is nothing to worry about.... I had my gestational diabetes test yesterday, so hopefully I won't hear anything today and that will mean I passed!

We've had a VERY eventful couple weeks around here. A little over a week ago, Jackson decided it would be fun to jump on Mommy and Daddy's bed and fell off. Long story short, we spent the afternoon in the ER to discover that he had fractured his elbow. He had to have his arm in a splint for a week, and we just got the cast put on this Wednesday. He's been such a trooper, but it has definitely knocked me down a few notches. I dealt with a lot of guilt and such, but thankfully he'll only have to wear the cast for two weeks and it will be taken off on August 17th! He thinks it's pretty cool.... he loved having everyone sign it! Here's a couple pictures of my brave boy!

So while it's been a very stressful week, I know that everything is going to be okay and God was definitely watching over my sweet boy when this happened! I am VERY proud to announce that Jackson is now 100% potty trained!!! He caught on SO quickly, I was super surprised. It literally took three days and he had it down.... such a great feeling and I couldn't be more proud of him!

Baby boy #2 (who still doesn't have a name as of now!) has become so active, it's unbelievable! My entire tummy will start to do rolls and sometimes I'm actually able to see a body part push out the side of my stomach! Such a fun experience. Jackson is SO excited to be getting a little brother.... he jumped up and down and screamed when we told him. It was so cute. He talks to "baby brother" every day and tells him how much he loves him. He'll stroke my tummy and say, "I can't wait to meet you!".... he's going to be an amazing big brother!

I'm also happy to report that I'm STILL down three pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight! Hopefully this means I can truly keep my goal at gaining no more than 20 pounds this entire pregnancy. Here's a couple pictures we took when we visited Silver Mountain last weekend!

Only FIFTEEN weeks left until this little miracle joins our family!!!
